What Is an Integrated Door Ring

An integrated door ring is a large hot stamped component that forms a continuous closed loop around the door opening. Instead of separate A-pillar, B-pillar, and roof rail reinforcements bolted or welded together, the door ring is one piece of boron steel that wraps around the door perimeter. This creates a continuous load path through the critical safety structure of the vehicle.

• Tailor Rolled Blank (TRB): Continuously rolled material with varying thickness is used to create the blank, enabling smooth transitions between thick and thin sections.

• Uniform Blank: A single thickness blank is hot stamped and quenched uniformly. Simplest and most cost-effective approach.

Applications

Integrated door rings are used in:
